This contract opportunity near Pflugerville, TX, offers the chance to work closely with students, faculty, and families to support academic and functional skill development. What We're Looking For:
Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, per state requirements Previous experience teaching students with visual impairments in a school setting Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Proficiency in Braille instruction and the use of assistive technology Excellent communication and teamwork skills Compassionate approach to working with students and families Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' visual abilities and learning needs Develop, adapt, and deliver personalized instructional plans to support student goals Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and parents to maximize student access to curriculum Monitor student progress, adjust teaching strategies, and maintain thorough documentation Advocate for student needs and support a safe, welcoming classroom environment Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and stay current with best practices Discover the rewards of helping students gain independence and confidence in their educational journey.
