9602282-75025 Job Description Exciting opportunities await experienced Special Education Teachers seeking a dynamic, full-time contract role in the Plano, TX area! Support one of three elementary school sites, each offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in a self-contained classroom setting tailored to unique student needs. Assignments include working with a life skills classroom, an autism classroom, or a behavior classroom with placements available at Rutherford Elementary (TLC/Total Language Classroom), Mackey Elementary (TLC/Total Language Classroom), or JR Thompson Elementary (Life Skills). This role is ideal for dedicated educators who thrive in supportive, structured environments and are passionate about fostering growth for students with diverse learning needs.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution. Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) teaching certificate. Previous experience working in special education, ideally in a self-contained classroom serving students with life skills, autism, or behavioral needs. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Up-to-date fingerprint clearance through TEA (or willingness to complete prior to start).
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique needs. Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere using evidence-based instructional methods. Collaborate closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed. Maintain a positive, safe, and structured environment suited for small group rotations. Participate in team meetings and school community activities as required.
