Child Care Resource Specialist

Under general supervision, is responsible for performing professional-level work assisting individuals with child care needs through telephone or face-to-face interviews and counseling. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. Exercises no supervision. Work Location Assigned location will vary based on departmental and program needs at one (1) of four (4) operating locations: Pre-K 4 SA North Education Center

• 4:30 p.m.; Monday
• Friday 9:30 a.m.
• 6:00 p.m. Monday
• Friday Conducts preliminary and ongoing eligibility intakes/re-certifications for parents applying for federally funded Child Care Services Program.

Performs calculations to determine parents' financial obligations for child care services. Monitors adjustments and payments. Maintains case records both electronically and hardcopy. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Coordinates between vendor and parent to complete child care arrangements. Conducts research and justification for various accounting adjustments, to include computer entry Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with preferred coursework in Business, Child Development, or related field. Preferred Qualifications Ability to pass a Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) background check. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Prior professional experience working in a school environment. Applicant Information Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university. Skill in utilizing personal computers and associated MS Windows-based software applications (e.g. Word, Excel) and federal/state designed programs in the completion of assignments. Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment. Ability to maintain and submit accurate records within the required time periods. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to estimate time and materials needed for projects. Ability to perform all the physical requirements of the position.
