This short-term role offers meaningful engagement as you work one-on-one, ensuring the student has access to a rich and supportive educational experience. The assignment runs for 2-3 weeks, Monday through Friday, four hours per daygiving you a balanced schedule and a chance to make a real impact in a focused setting.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ideally in a K-12 educational environment Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional strategies Strong advocacy, communication, and interpersonal skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

Provide personalized, one-on-one support and instruction to a student who is deaf during the school day Adapt curriculum and communication methods to support the students educational goals Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to optimize the students learning experience Promote language development and self-advocacy skills Monitor and document the students progress, making adjustments as needed Maintain a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment Take advantage of a flexible weekday schedule and the chance to contribute your specialized skills in a vibrant and supportive school environment.
