Key Qualifications:

Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing is required Strong proficiency in sign language is highly preferred Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting Comfortable providing instruction across a variety of ages, from infants in early intervention to high school students Flexibility, adaptability, and excellent communication abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide individualized and group instruction to approximately 29 students with varying degrees of hearing loss Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to create effective learning environments and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Utilize a range of teaching methods, including visual and auditory strategies, to meet students unique learning needs Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages language development and academic growth Engage in ongoing assessment, progress monitoring, and documentation of student achievement
