The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and diverse employment opportunity with our Agency. We are looking for a visionary and dynamic individual to fill our Instructor for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing - LSL Preschool Classroom located in Salt Lake City. Principal Duties As an Instructor you will: Provide appropriate programming for deaf/hard-of-hearing students Generate information/reports on children as appropriate Follow appropriate curriculums as provided Report grades and document progress Takes a collaborative role at staffing meetings, IEP meetings, student transitions, and aids in IEP success through appropriate assessments, including assessment of hearing functioning, language acquisition, goal development, and follow-through of the IEP Collaborate with JMS ASL/English Preschool Teacher The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will possess or eligibility of: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education (Masters degree preferred) State of Utah Special Education Teaching License Successful completion of a criminal background check. Preference may be given to candidates with Deaf Education Endorsement Preference may be given to candidates with AG Bell LSLS certification
