As a Service Learning school operating under the EL Education (Expeditionary Learning) model, we focus on student achievement across three core areas: Mastery of Knowledge and Skills, Character, and High-Quality Work. We are looking for an innovative and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our MAGNA team and manage a portion of our K-8 caseload. Key Responsibilities Caseload Management:
Direct student caseloads and coordinate services with support from para-educators.
IEPs & Compliance:
Draft compliant IEPs, conduct annual meetings, administer assessments, and maintain required documentation.
Data-Driven Instruction:
Implement evidence-based strategies and track data to support individual student goals.
School Culture:
Support the Entheos mission by building a classroom environment rooted in high expectations, leadership, and service.
Professional Growth:
Participate in regional programming, off-site conferences, and institutes to refine your teaching practices.
Qualifications & Skills Licensure:
Active Utah Professional Educator License OR eligibility for alternative licensure (requires a Bachelor's degree in any field).
Collaboration:
Ability to plan creatively with general education teachers and support staff.
Communication:
Dedication to consistent, open communication with parents and guardians.
Mindset:
Resourceful, adaptable, and willing to reflect on and refine teaching strategies.
Physical & Essential Requirements Attendance:
Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
Mobility & Endurance:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and walk up to 1 mile during outdoor fieldwork in various weather conditions.
Terrain Navigation:
Ability to navigate stairs, uneven ground, and outdoor paths during excursions.
Safety & Emergency:
Ability to move quickly (including running if necessary) during urgent student situations.
Language:
