Job Description
Special Education Teacher At Bridgeway Integrated Healthcare Services, the work we do matters, and so do the people doing it. From Brigham City to St. George, we walk alongside children and families who are navigating some really hard moments. We don't just clock in and out of purpose; we show up with heart, grit, and a deep belief that every family can grow stronger. Our academy program serves students who are unable to succeed in a traditional school setting due to behavioral, emotional, mental health, or developmental challenges. We are looking for a Special Education Teacher who understands that education is not just about lesson plans; it is about helping students break barriers, build confidence, and find success again. Special Education Teachers at Bridgeway help create a safe, structured, and individualized learning environment for students who need a different path. This role requires an educator who can think creatively, adapt quickly, and collaborate with behavioral and mental health teams to support the whole child. You will provide individualized and small-group instruction, develop academic plans, support behavioral growth, and work closely with families and treatment teams to help students succeed both academically and emotionally. Who You Are You believe every child is capable of growth, even when progress is slow. You are patient, adaptable, and creative in the way you teach. You can stay calm and solution-focused during difficult behaviors or emotional moments. You understand that behavior is communication and that students need support, not shame. You are comfortable working in an environment that blends academics, behavioral health, and mental health support. You are a strong communicator who can collaborate with families, clinicians, and school teams. You want more than a classroom, you want the opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact. What You'll Do Create Individual Academic Plans (IAPs) to support each student's educational growth. Plan, organize, and provide instruction in both group and individualized settings. Deliver push-in support, interventions, and specialized instruction while students receive behavioral health treatment. Collaborate with parents, school teams, clinicians, and other professionals to support student success. Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet a wide variety of learning, behavioral, and emotional needs. Help students build confidence, independence, coping skills, and emotional regulation. Administer yearly standardized assessments and track academic progress. Participate in trainings and ongoing professional development opportunities. Support team members by sharing educational strategies, curriculum ideas, and programming recommendations. What You Can Expect A non-traditional educational setting where your creativity matters A collaborative team of clinicians, behavior specialists, and educators Opportunities for growth, training, and professional development Meaningful work that directly changes the lives of students and families A chance to teach in a way that feels more personal, impactful, and rewarding
