Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school district in Accomac, VA, is seeking qualified Special Education Teachers for multiple positions in elementary and middle school settings. These full-time roles offer the opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs in inclusive and self-contained environments, fostering growth and development during the school year.
Open positions include:
Two Elementary Special Education Teachers (Grades K-5) in inclusion classrooms One Elementary Special Education Teacher (Grades K-5) in a self-contained classroom One Middle School Special Education Teacher (Grades 6-8) in inclusion classrooms
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student IEPs in alignment with grade level content standards Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion classrooms Monitor and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Partner with paraeducators provided for additional classroom support Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and administrators to ensure student success
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification suitable for assigned grade levels Experience working with students with disabilities in K-8 settings preferred Ability to manage classroom environments that address diverse learner needs Strong collaboration and communication skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Position Details:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Contract position starting ASAP for the remainder of the current school year Paraeducator support available to assist classrooms This opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about making a positive impact on students with special needs in public school settings.
