Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a contract Special Education Teacher in the vibrant community near Crewe, Virginia. Bring your dedication and skill to two school sites in a full-time, academic-year position, making a significant impact in classrooms with small co-taught caseloads. Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification/license Experience partnering in co-taught classroom settings, ideally across grades 3-4 and 7-8 Instructional expertise with diverse learners and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong collaboration skills to work closely with fellow teachers and support staff Clear communication and effective classroom management abilities Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction within general education classrooms to meet individual student needs Collaborate with staff in co-teaching models for both grades 3-4 and 7-8, serving caseloads of fewer than ten students per site Implement and monitor IEPs and provide data-driven progress reports Participate in parent conferences, IEP meetings, and school initiatives Contribute to a supportive, positive school community through active engagement and teamwork Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and school guidelines for special education
