GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK

Under the supervision of the Principal, plan, organize, and implement appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their potential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Instruct students according to appropriate curriculum that includes assessment and review processes. Plan, develop, write, and implement lesson plans in keeping with school district and state education requirements, keeping records of student achievement and tracking their abilities. Work in collaboration with staff and other teachers. Comply with and enforce school rules and school board policies and procedures. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as appropriate. Perform other school duties and assignments as appointed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with appropriate endorsement.
