Job Description
OneStaff Medical is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for Medical Surgical assignments across the U.S. In this role, you'll deliver direct bedside care to adult med-surg patients, administer medications and IV therapies, and closely monitor and document patient status using EMR systems. You'll collaborate with physicians and care teams, educate patients and families, and uphold strict safety and infection-control standards. Responsibilities Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients on travel assignments Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies per provider orders and hospital protocols Continuously monitor, assess, and document patient status using EMR systems Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge instructions Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards in all care activities Adapt quickly to new hospital environments, workflows, and unit policies Participate in hand-offs, report, and care coordination across shifts Respond to emergencies, perform basic life support, and escalate changes in condition Accurately complete charting, documentation, and required travel contract paperwork Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment and monitoring IV therapy and phlebotomy Medication administration and dosage calculation Wound care and post-operative management Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Infection prevention and control Care planning and care coordination Basic life support and emergency response Patient and family education
