Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a vital educational support role serving students with visual impairments throughout a welcoming district in the Dumfries, VA area. This contract position is ideal for a dynamic Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) who is passionate about delivering meaningful instruction and consultation to students ranging from PreK to 12th grade. You will shape the vision services for a growing caseload, providing a mix of direct service and consultative support for students with varying needs. Enjoy the flexibility to determine your own schedule and the opportunity to potentially expand from a part-time role (.5 FTE) to full-time, based on student needs and district requirements. This position is open to both on-site and VOCO (virtual) service delivery, making it a great fit for professionals seeking variety and a collaborative educational environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Current Virginia Department of Education certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) required Experience serving students with visual impairments in PreK-12th grade settings preferred Strong assessment, instruction, and consultative skills across a range of student abilities Must begin VA Dept. of Social Services background check and complete a TB test promptly Adaptability and strong communication skills for working with multiple schools and diverse student needs
