Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Caregiver to provide specialized care for an 18 yr old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Intellectual disability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, demonstrating patience, attentiveness, and a proactive approach to care. This role involves working closely with the individual to promote independence, safety, and well-being within a supportive environment. The caregiver will be responsible for implementing individualized care plans, assisting with daily activities including hygeine, and fostering positive communication. Looking for a provider interested in providing long term care for this individual. Responsibilities Provide personalized support to 18 yr old individual with autism, ensuring their safety and engaging with them in a positive manner. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including cleaning, meal preparation, and some personal care (showering, brushing teeth). Monitor patient behavior and observe for any changes or concerns, informing parents of notable concerns or observations. Support emotional well-being through engaging activities, compassion at all times, patience, and effective communication strategies. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification, and resident rights protections. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Knowledge of emergency response procedures such as first aid and CPR. Strong skills in patient care, personal support assistance, meal preparation, and assisting with ADLs. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within care plans Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with parents. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities across various age groups is highly desirable. Experience with regulating strategies and neurodiversity affirming strategies for behavior intervention. Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 35.0 per week
