Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and patient individual to provide one-on-one support for a 16-year-old male on the autism spectrum . The ideal candidate will assist with daily routines, foster social interaction, and ensure a safe, supportive environment at home and in the community.
Schedule:
Position is part-time, M-F, 3:30 PM - 8:30
PM Compensation:
$14 -18 /hr depending on experience.
Environment Perks:
Interest in history is a plus. Loves visiting local historical landmarks that are studied in school.
Key Responsibilities Daily Living Assistance:
Provide hands-on help with personal care tasks, including grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
Behavioral Support:
Implement established behavioral strategies and provide proactive redirection during moments of frustration or sensory overload.
Community Integration:
Accompany the individual on outings (e.g., museums, parks, libraries, or recreational activities) to practice social skills and promote independence.
Therapeutic Engagement:
Assist with home-based therapy goals, such as communication exercises or physical activities, as directed by parents or specialists.
Safety Monitoring:
Maintain a vigilant eye on the individual's well-being, particularly in unfamiliar or crowded environments.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Prior experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
Soft Skills:
Must demonstrate high levels of patience, empathy, and calmness under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to be physically active and, if necessary, assist with mobility or lifting.
Safety:
Valid driver's license with a clean record and the ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
Certifications:
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must be able to communicate clearly in English. Must be eligible to work in the US.
Pay:
$14.00 - $18.00 per hour
