9660998-23223 Job Description Make a real difference by supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work in-person with students, helping them reach their full potential through specialized instruction and support. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available, providing the flexibility to best fit your lifestyle and commitments.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state-specific credentials preferred) Previous experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting Strong knowledge of current instructional techniques, assistive technology, and best practices for DHH students Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs, progress monitoring, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in ASL or other communication methods used by DHH students Ability to cultivate an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting lessons to each students needs Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote student success and inclusion Develop and monitor IEP goals, collecting ongoing data and updating educational plans as needed Serve as an advocate and resource for students and families, providing guidance on accommodations and communication strategies Utilize and integrate assistive technology and alternative communication methods to support student learning This role offers the satisfaction of directly impacting students educational experience within a supportive school community.
