Job Description

Make a meaningful difference supporting elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a structured, supportive school setting near Stafford, VA. The Elementary Autism Program seeks a compassionate Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom, providing individualized instruction, guidance, and behavioral support tailored to a diverse group of young learners. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that reflect students unique strengths and needs Deliver direct instruction grounded in state standards and student-centered programming Use evidence-based practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and execute behavior intervention plans (BIPs) Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, therapists, psychologists, and other related service providers Guide and supervise classroom paraprofessionals Collect data on student progress and ensure compliance with required documentation Foster the development of communication, social, self-regulation, and independent living skills Maintain an engaging, structured, and safe classroom environment
Required Qualifications:
Valid or eligible Virginia Special Education Teaching License Demonstrated skill with IEP development and compliance documentation Strong classroom management and behavioral support abilities Excellent collaboration and communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
Preferred Experience:
