9668261-22193 Job Description Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher serving young learners in an engaging, full-time role focused on adaptive skills. This contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide meaningful instruction for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students in an Adaptive Skills Program, utilizing the Virginia Essentialized Standards of Learning (VESOL) curriculum. You'll collaborate with a supportive team, empowering students to reach their individual milestones and ensuring that every child receives the personalized support they need to thrive.
Qualifications:
Valid VA Teaching License is required Adaptive certification is preferred Experience or enthusiasm for supporting K-2 students in special education settings Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Dedication to individualized student growth within an inclusive classroom environment What you'll do: Deliver instruction to K-2 students following the VESOL curriculum within an adaptive skills setting Develop and implement personalized learning plans tailored to each students needs Monitor progress and adjust instruction as necessary to foster academic, social, and behavioral growth Work collaboratively with general education staff, related service providers, and families Maintain accurate records in adherence to state and program requirements Foster a supportive, positive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and abilities This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, for 37.5 hours each week, offering stable, daytime hours and a consistent schedule.
