Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding journey as a Special Education professional supporting middle school students in a self-contained environment. This full-time contract opportunity offers a chance to make a significant impact during the 26-27 school year, working with a small caseload of 6-10 students in grades 6 through 8. Your dedication and expertise will be instrumental in fostering educational and personal growth for students who need it most.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
Active Vermont Special Education Teacher certification (will consider candidates with pending certification) Previous experience teaching or supporting students with diverse learning needs Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Excellent communication skills for collaboration with families, staff, and outside support professionals Commitment to differentiated instruction and fostering inclusive classroom culture Ability to build rapport with students and manage a self-contained classroom Responsibilities in this role include: Creating and delivering individualized instruction and support to students in a self-contained 6-8th grade classroom Managing a caseload ranging from 6-10 students and maintaining accurate student records Developing and updating IEPs in collaboration with families, related service providers, and other staff Implementing targeted behavior management strategies Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional methods as needed Participating in team meetings, professional development, and school activities If you're passionate about guiding young learners to achieve their fullest potential in a supportive, close-knit educational community, this opportunity will allow you to utilize your skills while making a tangible difference.
