9585566-05446 Job Description Shape meaningful student experiences as a Special Education Teacher or Educational Support Professional (ESP/Behavior Interventionist) in a dynamic, supportive elementary and middle school environment near Colchester, VT. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to work directly with students from kindergarten through eighth grade, building valuable skills in behavior intervention and individualized instruction. The role begins on August 20th, with a schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a 37.5-hour week, following the school calendar.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Valid teaching certification or experience in special education Passion for supporting diverse learners and adapting instruction to meet individual needs Experience or interest in Behavioral Intervention (BI), including supporting positive behavior strategies Commitment to collaboration with teachers, families, and other support staff Strong communication, patience, and flexibility Background working with K-8 students preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Support students with special needs across a range of grades and abilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Apply effective behavior intervention techniques to foster positive learning environments Collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver differentiated instruction Collect data to monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams This opportunity offers a fulfilling way to shape the educational journeys of students who benefit from specialized support.
