Job Description

Empower students to reach their full potential by stepping into a pivotal Special Education Teacher role in a vibrant school setting near Essex Junction, VT. As a contract professional, youll collaborate with dedicated educational teams to help shape brighter futures for students requiring specialized instruction and support.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification in Vermont) Bachelors or masters degree in Special Education or a related field Prior experience working with students who have diverse learning needs or disabilities Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with parents, staff, and administration Resourceful, adaptable, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with exceptional needs Develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other specialists to tailor strategies and accommodations Assess student progress and adjust instructional methods and supports as needed Communicate regularly with families to report on student growth and discuss strategies for continued success Maintain accurate records and documentation required for special education services Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a supportive school community focused on student achievement and growth.
