The Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking an innovative, energetic, and collaborative special educator to join the Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) community as a teacher in our alternative program. The Compass program has been developed to provide core instructional services for students in grades 9-12 with social/emotional challenges and other disabilities. We are seeking a professional with demonstrated leadership, organization and problem-solving skills who matches our passion for an integrated special education service delivery model within a multi-tiered system of supports. The ideal candidate will have a background in teaching students with social/emotional and behavioral challenges with a goal of reintegration. Knowledge of special education rules and regulations, and a solid ability to integrate a variety of assessment information to develop intervention programs is required. An understanding of proficiency-based instruction is beneficial. Master's degree or equivalent in Special Education or other appropriate discipline plus 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in providing special education services is preferred.
