Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students' growth and success for the academic year from August 19, 2026 to June 14, 2027. We're seeking three highly motivated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to work onsite, each contributing their expertise and creativity within diverse educational environments. Your Vermont professional teaching license should include one of the following: Special Educator Endorsement, Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement, or Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement. As a full-time educator (35 hours per week), you'll be an integral force in shaping young minds.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Vermont Teaching License with required Special Education Endorsement(s) Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies for students with Autism, executive function challenges, and severe behaviors Experience developing life skills and preparing students for real-world employment Flexibility, collaborative spirit, and a knack for creative problem-solving Up-to-date fingerprinting (district will accept recent, approved fingerprints from prior school assignments)
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of caseloads in high school pilot programs or elementary settings Partner with a dynamic team to support students with learning disabilities, high-functioning Autism, and those preparing for transitions beyond school Modify curriculum and use evidence-based practices to support student growth Leverage available PT/OT staff and community resources to provide comprehensive services Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment promoting achievement and independence This position offers the chance to build lasting impact—whether guiding high schoolers in a forward-thinking pilot program or collaborating in an elementary team environment.
