Special Educator - SEL Focus

Addison Northwest School District is seeking a certified Special Educator to support grades 6-12 students with a variety of special needs. Were looking for someone who brings creativity, social-emotional learning expertise, and innovative approaches to increase student engagement. Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work closely with colleagues, paraeducators, and families are highly valued.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with general and special educators to instruct and support students with multiple disabilities. Develop, modify, and accommodate curriculum to meet diverse student needs in classroom and pull-out settings. Implement behavioral plans and support social-emotional growth. Supervise and coordinate paraeducators. Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and staff.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Expertise in social-emotional learning (SEL). Creative approaches to engage students in learning. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Experience integrating students with emotional/behavioral challenges into classroom life.
