Packaging Operator

Title:

Packaging Operator 8am - 4pm) Shacksbury is a growing company with opportunities for learning and advancement. No prior experience necessary however pay is commensurate with experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Looking for someone who loves tinkering with machines, can roll with the punches and enjoys working with a team. Hours for this position are somewhat variable and usually increase during the summer and fall - expect some overtime during this period. Sometimes everything runs perfectly and everyone goes home early, sometimes we hit a snag and the team needs to stay to finish out the tank.

• Pack-out finished goods, operate labeler, paktech applicator, and shrink bundler
• Basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment
• Some reporting and record keeping
• Availability for occasional evening or weekend work

• Punctual and reliable
• Excellent communication skills
• Work calmly under pressure
• Comfort with email, Slack, and Google Suite
• Mechanical aptitude / comfort with simple machines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time and walk; use fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands; talk and hear; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, twist, bend and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift or carry up to 60 pounds and manipulate and/or move up to 155 pounds. Use of arms above the shoulder is sometimes required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires manual dexterity and ability to quickly move hand(s), hand with arm, grasp, manipulate or assemble. The employee operates a motor vehicle/forklift.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Employees must wear PPE ear and eye protection at certain times, as directed.

Full time / hourly / PTO
