This contract position presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an educational environment, working closely with students who are blind or visually impaired. Your expertise as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Braillist will be essential in fostering accessibility and educational achievement.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or Special Education, with certification in teaching students with visual impairments Proficiency in Braille transcription, instruction, and adaptive technology Experience providing classroom and individualized instruction to students with visual impairments Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Organized, adaptable, and committed to developing accessible learning materials

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored instruction in core subjects, life skills, and literacy, incorporating Braille and assistive technology as needed Conduct assessments to identify student strengths, needs, and appropriate accommodations Adapt curriculum resources to facilitate accessibility and independence for visually impaired learners Provide Braille materials and ensure classroom modifications support all learners Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and family members to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Offer professional guidance and training for staff regarding best practices in supporting visually impaired students
