e2112-98504 Job Description Make a difference in the lives of children as a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired for a rewarding full-time, long-term contract role serving a local school near scenic Olympia, WA. This position focuses on providing individualized 1:1 support to pediatric students, ensuring they receive the specialized instruction and guidance needed to thrive in an educational setting. Ideal candidates will bring both compassion and expertise to their daily interactions and collaborate closely with families, educators, and support staff to create a nurturing, accessible learning environment. Desired Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) required State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is mandatory Previous experience working with pediatric or school-aged children in a 1:1 or classroom setting preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to adapt instructional materials and methods for students with a range of visual needs Willingness to work as a travel professional in a new community
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, individualized support and instruction to visually impaired students Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans tailored to each child's needs Collaborate with other teachers, related service providers, and families to promote student progress Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student evaluations and goal-setting Utilize adaptive technology and specialized resources to facilitate learning
