Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This full-time, full school year contract role offers the opportunity to work with a small caseload, with specific assignments to be confirmed soon. You'll collaborate with educators and families to create inclusive learning environments tailored to each student's unique needs.

Key Qualifications:

Active Washington state teaching license with DHH/Deaf & Hard of Hearing endorsement Demonstrated experience teaching or supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing Knowledge of current instructional strategies, assistive technology, and accommodations for DHH learners Strong communication and advocacy skills, including collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) addressing students' strengths and learning needs Provide direct instruction to DHH students, adapting lessons and materials for optimal accessibility Coordinate with general and special education staff to ensure successful inclusion in the classroom Offer consultative support and training to staff and families on strategies and auditory technology Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports, actively participating in IEP meetings
