JOB SUMMARY
Eastside Catholic School is seeking a Middle School Humanities Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will support the school's mission of educating the whole student, demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, and foster critical thinking within an inclusive, faith-based learning environment. Specific Responsibilities Establish clear objectives for lessons, learning targets and projects in alignment with departmental curriculum Collaborate with the Humanities Department to ensure curriculum alignment, integration and consistency Plan and teach five class periods, including: Humanities (grades 6, 7 or 8) and potentially a reading/writing support course, using research based instructional best practices Develop and maintain curriculum materials, including syllabi, course outlines and assessments aligned with department expectations Monitor and assess student's development and progress in a fair and consistent manner Participate in all faculty, department and committee meetings, as required
Requirements:
Strong understanding of and experience in middle school humanities instruction and curriculum design Experience with differentiated instruction to support diverse learners Proficiency with instructional and classroom technology Ability to build positive relationships and maintain open communication with students and families Strong interpersonal, collaborative, communication and organizational skills A commitment to practices that promote equity, inclusion and fostering a sense of belonging Education and experience Bachelor's degree in English or a related field required; master's degree preferred Teaching experience in middle school humanities preferred A valid teaching certificate preferred
