Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Life Skills Teacher to support students in grades PK-5. This position is based onsite and will run from August 2026 through May 2027, offering a chance to positively impact students' lives within a supportive school environment near Sunnyside, WA. Recent graduates are welcome to apply and will benefit from collaboration with a knowledgeable staff and administration dedicated to professional growth.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Current Washington State Special Education Certification required Master's degree in Education or a related field Previous experience working with students requiring life skills support preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates are encouraged to apply Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and support to students with a range of special needs in a life skills classroom setting Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique strengths and needs Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to support student learning Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates regularly with parents and staff Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere focused on growth and independence
