Job Description
Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth. Your expertise will help create engaging lesson plans, implement individualized education programs (IEPs), and support children with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including Montessori and preschool frameworks, to promote literacy, math, behavioral health, and overall development. Lead classroom activities that foster active learning, positive behavior management, and inclusive participation for children with varied abilities. Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and early intervention professionals to support individual student goals and progress. Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods and maintain detailed records of student performance, IEPs, and behavioral observations. Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and aides to ensure high-quality instructional delivery and classroom management. Engage families through regular communication about their child's progress, behavior strategies, and developmental milestones. Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth. Experience Proven classroom experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or private schools. Strong background in special education, including working with students with disabilities such as autism or developmental delays. Experience developing curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, behavioral health strategies, and sensory activities. Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring processes. Familiarity with teaching methods such as Montessori or other child-centered approaches preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, therapists, and external specialists.
