In this role, you will design and implement individualized instructional plans that support students with various disabilities and help them reach their full potential while collaborating closely with colleagues, families, and specialists to maintain an inclusive learning environment. Duties Develop and execute personalized lesson plans aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring instructional modifications meet each student's unique needs Implement evidence-based teaching strategies to support student growth and learning goals Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors—to coordinate needed services Manage classroom environments effectively through classroom management and behavior management techniques tailored for students with disabilities Utilize educational technology tools and learning technology platforms to enhance instruction and engagement across subjects Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, conduct assessments using standardized testing methods, and prepare reports for parent communication and compliance purposes Foster positive relationships with students by providing nurturing childcare, early intervention strategies, and social-emotional support to promote childhood development and child welfare Skills Demonstrated experience working with high school students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), visual impairments, hearing impairments including deaf education, and other disabilities Proficiency in curriculum development tailored for special education at the secondary level Strong knowledge of special education law, educational compliance standards, IEP processes, instructional design, and regulatory requirements Excellent communication skills for effective parent and peer collaboration Skilled in classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior management for students with diverse needs Familiarity with instructional modifications and accommodations to support individualized instruction Ability to integrate educational technology seamlessly into lessons for enhanced learning outcomes
Pay:
$70.00 - $110.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
