Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take the next step in your Special Education teaching career by joining a dynamic program focused on empowering 18-21-year-old students as they prepare for adult life. In this collaborative role, you'll work alongside two dedicated teachers and a supportive team of paraprofessionals, guiding a group of approximately 25 young adults through a variety of hands-on, real-world learning experiences. This opportunity is based in a welcoming community setting designed to foster growth, independence, and skill-building. Students attend Monday through Thursday, with Fridays dedicated to teacher planning and preparation, allowing you the space to reflect and refine your instructional approach. This contract position follows a predictable schedule—Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, including a 30-minute lunch break, for a total of 37.5 hours each week.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with teaching and support staff to design and implement individualized and group instruction focused on vocational, daily living, and communication skills. Supervise and mentor students as they perform job tasks both within the community building and in small groups at various off-site locations. Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where every student can thrive and build confidence navigating everyday tasks. Document student growth and participate in IEP development and review, working closely with families and related service providers. Participate in team meetings, contributing your expertise to help optimize program outcomes.
