$45/hour+, based on experience and credentials Position Summary The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to special education students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to student success through individualized instruction, collaboration with educational teams, and implementation of specialized learning programs. This role requires active participation in developing and executing student-centered educational plans, providing specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff to ensure students receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially. Key Responsibilities + Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students with special needs. + Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). + Collaborate with administrators, teachers, support staff, and families to support student success. + Assess student progress and maintain accurate educational records. + Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs. + Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. + Support inclusion initiatives and consult with general education teachers. + Create a positive, supportive, and structured learning environment. + Comply with all district, state, and federal special education regulations and guidelines. Minimum Requirements + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred. + Valid state teaching certification as required by state, district, or contract regulations. + Minimum one (1) year of teaching experience preferred. + State Teacher Certification (preferred): + Standard Elementary Teaching + Standard Secondary Teaching + Standard Special Teaching + Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred. + Commitment to professional standards and best educational practices. + Current CPR certification (if applicable). + Current TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable). + Current health certificate as required by state regulations or contract. + Must meet all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age.
