9654057-54875 Job Description Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting high school students with diverse learning needs for the 26/27 school year. This full-time role focuses on providing academic instruction and fostering growth in students requiring cross-categorical support. Serving a caseload of approximately 7 students, you'll have the chance to make a significant impact by developing individualized strategies that encourage both academic achievement and self-regulation in a collaborative setting.
What You'll Need:
Appropriate certification and credentials to teach Special Education at the high school level Experience or strong interest in cross-categorical classrooms Knowledge of instructional methodologies for students with mild to moderate disabilities Ability to develop and adapt IEPs to address individual student needs Strong communication and organizational skills Capacity for collaboration with general education staff, related service providers, and families
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging academic instruction tailored to the skills and needs of each student Create and implement effective classroom management and self-regulation strategies Develop, update, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with legal requirements Maintain clear and ongoing communication with parents, guardians, and colleagues Support students in building independence and confidence within the school setting Track and report student progress toward IEP goals Working Monday through Friday, with a 37.5-hour workweek, you'll be part of a supportive educational environment where your expertise will help shape positive outcomes for students with mild academic and self-regulation needs.
