A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for children in the classroom
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Supervise and manage classroom assistants or aides
- Assess the developmental needs of each child and create individualized learning plans
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and development
- Utilize learning technology and resources to enhance classroom instruction
Experience:
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a daycare, preschool, or special education setting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experiences of young learners.
