9607055-54665 Job Description Step into a rewarding full-time opportunity making a difference in the lives of high school students as a Special Education Teacher serving grades 9-12. This contracted role spans the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning August 18, 2026, and concluding June 3, 2027, providing consistency and lasting impact for your students. Youll be at the forefront of supporting an engaging, cross-categorical caseload (currently projected at 16-20 students), all while working collaboratively with two dedicated educational assistants. As a valued member of the learning community, youll find strong support and a dynamic environment where your expertise truly matters.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active and valid Wisconsin special education certification/license is required. Previous experience working with high school students or cross-categorical caseloads is strongly preferred. Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance. Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture and adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner. Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially when working with assistants and fellow educators.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute individualized education plans tailored for students with diverse learning needs. Adapt instructional methods and materials to optimize reach and engagement. Utilize support from educational assistants to enhance instructional delivery and classroom management. Monitor, assess, and document student progress, making timely adjustments as needed. Coordinate with staff, families, and related service providers to ensure holistic student support.
