GED Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Champion Support Paraprofessional maintains a positive school culture by supervising common areas, implementing behavior systems, and providing classroom coverage. This role reinforces school-wide expectations, de-escalates conflicts, and ensures continuity of instruction when teachers are absent.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Culture & Discipline Monitor hallways, cafeterias, and transition areas to reinforce PBIS expectations. Implement tiered behavior interventions under administrator's direction Document minor incidents in school tracking systems (e.g., Kickboard) Escalate major incidents to administrators Classroom Coverage Provide short-term classroom supervision during teacher absences Deliver pre-prepared lessons with fidelity Maintain academic routines and behavior standards Champion Support Coach champions on conflict resolution and restorative practices Supervise in-school reflection spaces for behavioral reset Escort champions to offices/nurses as needed Operational Support Assist with school-wide initiatives (assemblies, dismissal) Distribute behavior incentives/rewards Prepare culture materials (bulletin boards, signage)
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma (required) Associate's degree or passing score on ALSDE ParaPro Assessment (preferred)
Experience:
1+ year in school settings or youth behavior management Familiarity with PBIS/restorative practices
