Contracted Substitute Teacher PreK-5 Rancho Solano Preparatory School - 2.9 Scottsdale, AZ Job Details Temporary | Part-time $46,000 a year 22 hours ago Qualifications Classroom management Teaching Certification Bachelor's degree Working with students Student support Performing background checks Full Job Description Rancho Solano Preparatory School is seeking to add a Permanent Substitute Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. The right candidate will be energetic and has a passion for being a positive influence on young children. Rancho Solano Preparatory School is an academically accelerated private school with 3 campuses covering grades PK-12. This role facilitates student learning in the absence of the regular teacher as well as supporting classrooms and administrative responsibilities as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans using a variety of techniques including lectures, group discussions, projects, and more. Maintains a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Maintains a safe and orderly environment. Manages student behavior in the classroom and administers discipline according to school policies. Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned. Remains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintains reasonable rules of conduct that encourage self-discipline and responsibility. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with school and legal regulations. Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school and demonstrates behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Provides student support services by monitoring students outside of the classroom as necessary, including playgrounds, dismissal areas, and the lunchroom. Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned, and may sponsor outside activities approved by the school. Attends and participates in staff development programs, faculty events and meetings, and serves on staff committees as required (i.e. teacher in-service days). Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude toward new challenges and growth opportunities. Completes other duties as assigned.
Experience and Expectations:
Bachelors degree is required. AZ Teaching certificate is preferred. Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check Must be able to obtain an AZ fingerprint card
