Job Description
Job Overview Seeds of Knowledge is seeking a reliable substitute preschool teacher for our Montessori-based program in Boulder Creek. The ideal candidate must hold a valid teaching certificate, as well as current CPR, First Aid certifications and pass a DOJ and FBI background check. We are looking for a kind, caring, and collaborative professional. Hours would be from 8AM - 4:30PM on an on-call basis. Duties Work with current aide in the classroom Manage classroom behavior effectively using established behavior management techniques to create a positive learning atmosphere. Organize classroom activities that promote student participation, creativity, and social development. Support early childhood education principles through age-appropriate childcare and literacy activities, including creative writing and Montessori-inspired methods. Collaborate with school staff to monitor student progress and provide feedback on classroom dynamics. Maintain clear communication with students, staff, and parents when appropriate, demonstrating professionalism and instructional adaptability. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings. Strong classroom management skills combined with excellent communication skills are necessary for fostering a respectful learning environment. Background in early childhood education, literacy education, or Montessori methods is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners and implement curriculum effectively across different subjects such as number skills and proper handwriting.
