Job Summary Job Summary The Pegasus School is seeking Substitute Teachers to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. Substitute Teachers provide classroom coverage when regular faculty members are absent and play an important role in maintaining a positive, engaging, and consistent learning environment for our students. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Current California teaching credential or substitute teaching permit. Experience working with school-age children in a school, classroom, tutoring, camp, youth program, or similar educational setting. Ability to lead a classroom, follow established lesson plans, and maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Strong classroom management, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make appropriate decisions independently while carrying out the responsibilities of the teacher. Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with students, employees, and families and maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Dependability, punctuality, flexibility, and the ability to respond calmly and appropriately to changing situations. Ability to meet all School and state requirements for employment, including required background clearance and applicable health and safety requirements.

Previous classroom teaching or substitute teaching experience. Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students. Experience in an independent school environment.
