The Substitute Teacher follows the regular teacher's lesson plans, curriculum, instructional materials, classroom procedures, and established expectations while maintaining a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment. Applicants should possess the ability to: Follow and implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher. Provide effective instructional support in Physics and related science concepts. Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. Maintain appropriate standards of student behavior. Work effectively with high school students in grades 9-12. Provide individual and small-group assistance to students as appropriate. Facilitate classroom discussions, demonstrations, activities, and laboratory experiences. Properly and safely use science equipment and materials. Maintain accurate student attendance and classroom records. Communicate effectively with students, school staff, administrators, and the regular classroom teacher. Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality concerning student information. Work cooperatively with school personnel and follow District and site policies and procedures.
