Assignments for substitute teachers are available at all grade levels and all subject areas. A Bachelor's degree is recommended, but the district can complete the ED 174 application for substitute teacher authorization and submit it to the Bureau of Certification to allow you to subtitute as long as you have previously worked with children. Substitute teachers must be able to follow instructions and lesson plans left by the teacher. As a substitute teacher you must be able to work with students with special education needs. Excellent communication skills are required. Must be reliable and have a positive attitude. The District uses Aesop, which is an automated substitute service that allows you to search and accept/decline the substitute jobs by school. Substitute compensation rate is $118.58 per day.Application Procedure:

Attach transcripts indicating a Bachelor's degree has been completed, and attach a minimum of one signed current letter of recommendation.
