Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our STEM Department as a long-term substitute teaching biology, environmental science, and physics. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring students to achieve their academic goals. We anticipate the position lasting approximately 12 weeks withe possibility of extension. General Responsibilities
- Educate students while promoting critical thinking and creativity.
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets state standards and addresses the diverse needs of students.
- Support students by providing guidance, support, and encouragement to enhance their learning experience.
- Conduct research to stay updated on educational best practices and integrate innovative teaching methods into the classroom.
- Collaborate with fellow educators in instructional design to enhance teaching strategies and student engagement.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diversity and promotes positive interactions among students. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study; teaching certification preferred but not required.
- While Saint Mark's High School is a Catholic School, candidates need not be Catholic in order to be considered for this position.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to successfully complete/pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
