Paraeducator PA03 Position Title Para - ESE Self Cont Custom Job Purpose This position exists to assist with a specific Exceptional Student Education (ESE) student's instructional/developmental program. Provides assistance with clerical duties, student supervision, behavior management, and related educational support throughout the school day. Duties are performed under the general supervision of supervisors/teachers. Performance is evaluated through observation of work, and/or periodic conferences, critiques, records and reports. Essential Functions of this Job Professional duties will involve attending meetings as necessary, attending appropriate inservice provided, and becoming acquainted with philosophies, policies, procedures, equipment, and the work site where assigned. Assists assigned teacher(s) by maintaining student records, preparing and distributing teaching materials, and grading student assignments. Supervision of student during meal time, during special programs/classes, staffings, fieldtrips, loading and unloading of buses, playground duty. May require changing, diapering, and/or feeding of student, with appropriate training. May require performance of non-invasive medical procedures with appropriate training. Reinforcement of instruction to individuals and small groups in various situations and programs, and tutoring, under teacher direction/supervision. Ensures classroom environment and other areas of instruction are designed for the oveall safety, care, and enrichment of the children enrolled. May require behavioral monitoring and/or assisting with Crisis Prevention Intervention team. Classroom assistance will be required in preparing projects, supervising students, field trips, reinforcement of discipline, and assistance with daily living skills.
