A Substitute Teacher teaches or supervises classes for teachers who are away on leave or sick. May substitute for teachers at several different schools or school districts. May substitute for one day or for a longer term absence; may follow lesson plans developed by the regular teacher, or work with teacher who will be out to create new lesson plans and assignments.

Job Description
Expectations, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities
- Adhere to A+ policies
- Arrive on time and appropriately dressed
- Be in the classroom ready to begin the day at scheduled start time
- Demonstrate warmth and understanding in behavior management
- Address behavior challenges by communicating desired behaviors using positive language
- Develop secure and loving relationships with children
- Demonstrate a willingness to experiment with different "languages" during daily routines
- Assist in providing for all areas of a child's development
- Assist in providing a developmentally appropriate and nurturing environment for children
- Assist in implementing daily activities to provide multiple opportunities for inquiry, problem-based learning
- Assist the lead-teacher in keeping the app updated (posting at least 4 photos per child per day as specified in the app expectations sheet.)
- Assist the lead-teacher in establishing classroom routines
- Maintain a clean environment and use proper sanitization procedures
- Report all accidents and incidents verbally and in writing to parents and the HR Director
- Participate in on-going in-service and educational development trainings (15 hours per year)
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all the children
- Help maintain current and accurate records on all children
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Assist teachers in collecting samples of child's work for meeting with parents and sharing their progress
