QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License Prior experience w/middle school students preferred

Desirable:

Previous teaching experience Knowledge of current strategies and research, developmentally appropriate practices for middle school students Ability to assess the learning of students and modify or enhance instruction as needed Ability to analyze various forms of data and use the information to make instructional decisions decisions Willingness to team and collaborate with other staff members Knowledge and experience with teaching students with a variety of abilities, learning styles, and social-emotional needs Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using standards-based teaching methods to address student learning styles

General:

Able to teach a diverse student body Able to collaborate with colleagues to benefit student instruction A child-centered professional A high degree of energy, flexibility and initiative Effective oral and written communication Well-developed interpersonal skills Ability to establish rapport with students, parents and staff A professional who is reflective and seeks continuous self-improvement

Compensation:

Days 1-10 $140 a day Starting on Day 11, $150 a day After 21 continuous days in the same assignment, the substitute teacher will be paid $292.67/day retroactive to day 1.
