Job Description

Nettle Creek School Corporation Superintendent, Mrs. Emily Schaeffer, has announced a vacancy notice for a Long-Term Substitute Teacher at Hagerstown Elementary School. This is a temporary position for the 2026-27 school year. The position is August 4, 2026 through August 28, 2026 with the possibility of extension.

Required Qualifications:

Appropriate Teacher Licensure for the state of Indiana. Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and grow, collaborative, people person. Preferred (but not required)

Qualifications:

Experience working with elementary students. Demonstrated evidence of increasing student achievement.

Job Duties:

Provide instruction in the assigned area. Collaborate with colleagues in your assigned Department and the appropriate grade level team on curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Provide timely communication with students and parents regarding student progress. Duties associated with the job description of a teacher in the Nettle Creek Schools.

Salary:

Teacher will be paid $80.00/day for the first 15 consecutive days. Further consecutive days will be paid at the daily rate of a first year teacher based on the NCSC Teacher Contract.
