High School Building Substitute Teacher Reports to VCP High School Principal

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
The best candidates for this position will embody the values and beliefs at the heart of the VCP mission and vision. They will also meet the following qualifications and possess these preferred skills: High School Diploma Substitute Teaching License (or willingness to gain one when hired) Collaborative and proactive approach to teaching Competency in using technology in the classroom setting Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban educational program Ability to follow an age appropriate curriculum
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL ACCOMPLISH
Follow the lesson plans that were created by the teacher Implement classroom procedures, systems, and routines that provide structure for students and maximize instructional time. Present academic content through a variety of instructional strategies to reach all learners Communicate frequently and effectively with student families; promptly return phone calls and answer emails. Able to proactively build meaningful, positive relationships with all students Uses restorative practices to build positive classroom culture
