6.5 hours/up to 185 days

PAY GRADE 15

$20.43 - $21.53 (based on education and experience)

REPORTS TO

Special Area Teacher Leader/Principal Benefits eligible: This position is eligible for employee level medical coverage, dental, and vision. It is also eligible for sick and personal days.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or

Experience:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and pass the paraprofessional test; or pass the Praxis Para Pro Assessment. Must hold a substitute permit.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills, familiarity with email systems, ability to learn systems such as, but not limited to, smart boards, document cameras, projection systems, sound systems, and digital technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises students. Teaches and executes the NAFCS approved music curriculum. Maintains word wall, Composer of the Month, ICAN, and hallway bulletin boards by keeping them up to date. Implements and instructs provided plans in a timely manner to ensure cohesiveness in all elementary schools. Communicates with administration about the possibility of up to 3 extra-curricular performances per year that you would be compensated for an extra 15 hours of time to plan and implement. Ensures that sub folder including all necessary materials, including lesson plans, is up to date and easy to find. Fills in as a substitute teacher during the day as needed. Provides support in other areas of the school as needed such as office support, classroom support and other areas as determined by administration. Performs other related duties as assigned by the administration and/or other designee.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation. Job Requirements High School/Trade School degree preferred. Citizenship, residency or work visa required
